If you would love to explore the UK canals but appreciate extra space, then a widebeam canal boat holiday could be an excellent option.
With a wide beam boat, you'll have more space onboard; that space, however, does come at a slight cost as not all the UK canals can be accessed by a wide beam boat; however, we still have some fantastic options, such as the Leeds and Liverpool canal. You must choose a narrowboat hire if you want to holiday onboard the narrow canals.

The UK canal system consists of both broad and narrow canals; wide beams offer more space, but with those come limitations of available hire boats and bases. By choosing a wide beam, you'll have extra space and a little more luxury; that does, however, mean you'll need to work through all the locks along (and can't share with a narrowboat), and your options regarding canals are more limited.
A widebeam offers all the essentials you would expect to find in your holiday accommodation included, such as Cooking facilities, a Fridge, Shower(s), etc..
Choices for wide beam holidays in the UK are more limited than narrowboat holidays, with most options on the Leeds & Liverpool canal or Kennet and Avon. We currently have one widebeam Larkspur a 6 berth widebeam on the Kennet & Avon canal.
