If you would love to explore the UK canals but appreciate extra space, then a widebeam canal boat holiday could be an excellent option.
With a wide beam boat, you'll have more space onboard; that space, however, does come at a slight cost as not all the UK canals can be accessed by a wide beam boat; however, we still have some fantastic options, such as the Leeds and Liverpool canal. You must choose a narrowboat hire if you want to holiday onboard the narrow canals.

The UK canal system consists of both broad and narrow canals; wide beams offer more space, but with those come limitations of available hire boats and bases. By choosing a wide beam, you'll have extra space and a little more luxury; that does, however, mean you'll need to work through all the locks along (and can't share with a narrowboat), and your options regarding canals are more limited.
A widebeam offers all the essentials you would expect to find in your holiday accommodation included, such as Cooking facilities, a Fridge, Shower(s), etc. If you are still determining if a widebeam is for you, why not watch the tour of.New Dawn below?
Choices for wide beam holidays in the UK are more limited than narrowboat holidays, with most options on the Leeds & Liverpool canal or Kennet and Avon. We currently have two widebeam hire boats New Dawn an 8 berth widebeam on the Leeds & Liverpool canal and Larkspur a 6 berth widebeam on the Kennet & Avon canal.
